WALLKILL RIVER SCHOOL PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP

There are still a few spaces left for my 3-day plein air workshop at the Wallkill River School in New York this June. The workshop will focus on painting outdoors from life (en plein air) along with basic art fundamentals of color temperature, value, edges, composition and paint handling. We will also discuss how to develop greater skills of observation, simplification, identification of a strong focal point and quickly painting “wet on wet” (alla prima) to translate what you see and experience into strong paintings. Participants will paint every day at a different location. Each day begins with a brief demonstration followed by everyone painting, with plenty of one-on-one instruction.
